does anyone remember the program that used to be on channel4 before there were any adverts that told u how to make furniture out of rubbish? i remember there was a male presenter that showed how to take a wooden palette out of skip and turning it into a futon. Anyone know his name?

Could have been 'change that' with mark curry? I think C4 has always had ads though...

nope... this was before then. around 1983

I remember the programme - futon from pallet and also barbecue from an old oil drum if I remember correctly.

I can "see" the presenter, but can't think of a name or programme title (sorry!).

My memory of the show is from around 1985 to 1986, since this is when I bought my first house and got "interested" in diy.

see! i knew i wasn't making it up. his stuff was a lot better than "changing rooms" lot. if only channel 4 would bring it back
