Hi

Forgive me for being a bit picky, but am I the only person who gets annoyed when I hear Jacob Black referred to as a Werewolf. Clearly he is not a werewolf....those who transform at full moon, howl and tear human beings to shreds (as in Ginger in Ginger Snaps, etc). Surely he is just a guy who can turn into a wolf!!!

the 'were' part is from the Latin 'vir' which means 'man' (as in virile etc). So werewolf just means man-wolf. Whether the wolfsbane has to be in bloom etc is up to the writer and the superstitions he wants to adopt, I suppose.
As jno says a werewolf is somebody who can change into a wolf the phases of the moon etc don't come into it
he turns into a wolf at any time not just at full moon, that's a different myth. Ask Seth Green he's up on all that
He is a shapeshifter!
