I am doing a play at school that is set in Brooklyn, and the characters of Italien desent. I am looking for some music to use in this so I thought I would find something from the soundtracks of movies with a similar setting.

Would be great if I could get some ideas!

Thanks in advance.

How about 'Once Upon a Time in America'.
Or the Godfather...

I think you're going to get a lot of Mafia movies here... strangely enough.

You doing A View From the Bridge?

Yes I am!!! That was a good guess!
Try the soundtrack from CASINO, that has some good Italian sounding tracks at the beginning, particularly one called ANGELIA which is very upbeat and fun.  Also, as previously mentioned, ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA has a lovely track called AMAPOLLA (or spelt something like that!)
how about the soundtrack from dangerous minds??
joe dolce - shaddap your face
saw a view from a bridge at the Queens theatre Hornchurch in Essex recently with Philip Whitchurch (Tyler in My Hero ) playing the lead of Eddie. It was brilliant. Good luck with your show.
you could try the wanderers - but its set in the 50's
