I have a vague memory (false?) of a film sequence which depicted American troops withdrawing from Saigon in 1975.  In the background is the song 'Get me out of this place' by The Animals.

I am not sure whether this was a film, TV program or even a news report.  Can anyone enlighten me?

I've seen loads of footage of US troops being helicoptered out out of Saigon, however I don't recall any with The Animals being played under it.

I'm trying to rack my brains as to whether there is a Vietnam movie that shows the withdrawl of troops from Saigon

Could be Tour of Duty - a t.v. programme of a few years back that featured a lot of rock tracks. Check it out on

Just to add information to my original query, there may have been a scene in which America soldiers throw grenades into a lift and send the lifts to the ground floor.  They leave the building by helicopter off the roof.
