Have any of you been a member of the audience on a tv show?

Im just watching Jeremy kyle and got a bit curious at what happens once the program goes to a break, does everyone rush off to the toilets? Does the presenter have to have his hair and makeup retouched, does anyone know?

My parents were in the audience for one of those game shows that are on before the lottery I think it was 1 vs 100. And the presentor had their makeup done. I'm not sure if it was live or not.

But if it's live then you don't have time.

Also, I was in the audience and participating for some of the time, during the recording of a radio quiz (which was also filmed but not shown on tele). It was prerecorded so the whole series took three days to film and I was only there for one day though. We got a break half way through the day, for lunch etc. They didn't want to have to wait afetr every game for people to go to the toilet.

No, they were in the audience for one show. I've actually been on a radio quiz that was filmed and i'm not sure who it was shown to but i lsitened to it on the radio.

Don't know but it just has to be more interesting than the plebs shouting and bawling at each other during the show!

Jeremy Kyle isn't live, so just because the viewer gets a break it doesn't mean the audience and participants do.

hc4361 so a non live show's audience don't have breaks? I would've thought they would with the live show audience members having to sit out the whole show.

I've sat in audience at trisha, you dont get a break, they just record it all. they put breaks in after. Its not live

i was in the audience at deal or no deal and in the break which is about 10-15 mins noel wnet straigh off and i think the contestant had make up done but thats it

They showed part of the break from d.o.n.d. once. For some reason a contestant had to stay perfectly still through the break and afterwards that showed it in fast forward and you could see make up people etc walking around being busy.

They film it near me, used to see all the audience queuing up in the morning to go in and the local taxi firm they use have some interesting stories! My cousin went to see it once and said JK was having a bit of a laugh at the contestants in the breaks from what I remember!

I've been in the audience for Take Me Out when they filmed some if it up here, a friend got free tickets and there was the lure of the lovely Paddy McGuinness.

It was really interesting seeing how it worked, we were there for a full evening just for one 1 hours show (less breaks) and they had to refilm quite a few bits to do it better or for when words were forgotton or got wrong etc... lots of make up touch ups and fiddling with lights and cameras and such too.

They had a great warm up guy to keep the audience amused and on form for clapping, cheering, shouting, ooohing etc... when not filming and he was hilarious!

We've been at Mastermind a couple of times and were horrified that between the two rounds of questions there are 10-15 minutes of Ted Robbins doing excrutiating stand up! The poor contestants, very tense already, have to sit there whilst this happens.

I've been in the audience for Barrymore ages ago and they did his makeup and he still carried on talking to us, casual like.

I saw Dancing on Ice a while back, which is live. during the breaks they change the "set" (put carpet on the ice for the presenters, clean the ice, etc) and the presenters did "pieces to camera" that related to the phone-ins, and would be used as voice overs at some later stage. they also signed autographs and chatted to the crowd.

My mum and me were in the audience of Loose Women the live show on a Monday and in the adverts Kate Thornton had her make up touched up, Carol mcGiffin wrapped herself in a fleece becasue she was cold and Linda Bellingham told the audience rude jokes!

A couple of our friends were in the audience for A Question of Sport a few years ago. Said it took about 4 hours to film the half hour show as the teams kept fluffing their lines and rolling about laughing.
