Have a look on EBAY should be something similar on there so you can get a general idea of the price/age if no joy try looking under the completed listing section you should be able to find something.

There was one on some Antique/Bargain/Bootsale day time programme yesterday and the guy said theyre generally not rare and only worth about a fiver.

Did you buy it new ? If so you must have an idea when you bought it.

If it is a video camera it won't be that old, surely.

Or do you mean that it is a cine-camera with a reel of film inside ?

Hello, if it is 8mm an proper cine film, ie no sound but oyu can hear it whirring in the camera, then it will be watchable but not of high quality. this is due to chemicals on the film, they have a life of about twenty years and heat, cold, how the camnera is handled etc can have an effect on the film. you can take it to Kodak and they restore old film but it may be a waste of time as it will be scratched, but you can use it for art purposes etc, think Mitchell and Kenyon.

If you still have it, put it in a cold dark place in a plastic bag so no dust etc can get in.
