Why are the extra channels called +1 (ITV2 +1 etc) called +1 when they run an hour behind? Shouldn't they be -1 instead?

Could it be because it's necessary to add one hour to the original time eg original time 9.00PM +1 = 10.00PM.

yes a programme on at 7 is then on +1 at 8. Not -1 at 6
