I don't Want to have a preview of the Queen's Speech!! Why do they do this?
I want to sit down and listen to it on Christmas Day like I have done for the past 60 odd years.

Who does it - and why do you look at previews if you don't want to see them?
Totally agree with yopu Chrissa.

Given that it is only 5 minutes or so, the Beeb showed over a minute of it and essentially spoiled it.

It really annoys me in this day and age there is a want to 'preview' things like this.....

Come the royal wedding, they would be showing shots of William and Kate on their wedding night if they could get a camera between the sheets, plus a preview......
> I don't want to have a preview of the Queen's Speech!

I don't believe that watching the preview is compulsory...
So, I'll ask again DT. Why do you watch it?
It was on the Beeb News and I wasnt sitting on the control!
the question uis why show it in the first place - the Beeb are doing this all the time. Take any good programme and you see the juicy bits before the programme goes out - and it can spoil the effect......
If the question is 'why show it in the first place?', perhaps you should ask the Beeb. I doubt anyone here knows the answer.
true naomi - is there any ABer who works for the Auntie who can comment on this?
No idea.
Where is RebelSouls, just when you need him?
I know they've upset him, and I've asked him why but can't get an answer. I'm not sure he actually works for them mushroom.
I'm sick & tired of all these previews, & also what infuriates me more is the practice of breaking into the end credits of programmes while they are displaying the cast lists which are of interest to me to notify us what's on next or coming on later.

So lots of you agree with me. It just pops up on the News. What do you think I should do Naomi & MarkRae, run screaming out of the room with my hands over my ears?

Previews in general go on so long for some programmes that you feel you know what's going to happen and so why bother watching it when the time comes.

It's a difficult one, I'll admit. Have you thought maybe of picking up the remote and changing channel? Again, that's not an easy task either, but there are courses you can go an and books you can buy...

Ooooooooh, get you Mark!! Why do You think they do it? We've managed very nicely for the past 50 odd years without a preview.

And another thing Mark. I choose not to watch programmes like Frankie Boyle but while you're innocently watching the News and it pops up at the end, there's not a lot you can do.
I agree the preview spoils it, it is hard to avoid as it is on the BBC news.Just lets have the speech, same with other programmes, Come Dine With Me for example shows the scores before the show begins not hard to guess who they are for. After watching some previews don't really need to see the whole show!
I don't understand anyway, why they tell us what's in the Speech all day today - why not just wait until she gives it, then we'd all know? I agree, these things pop up in the news (and if you are not in charge of the remote as you said, not much you can do about it!). Don't do it, beeb!
At one time we were obedient subjects who waited for royal pronouncements. No longer and a good thing too.
Re the BBC. Its all part of the great dumbing down resulting from competition. Even Radio 3 does it!
