I think my opinion is coloured by a visit he made to my city when he was on Radio One - he was making a personal appearence at a teenage disco.

NE was over an hour late, and when eventually arrived, he ticked off the audience ( all young teens) for shrieking at him, and was humourless and rude to everyone involved ih the event. He does have a reputation for being humourless.

That said I think he is a broadcaster without equal - and as advised, i do very much admire his skill in his work on DOND.

I can concur Loftylottie - I had a chat with Paul Jones backstage at Glastonbury last summer and he looks about thirty-five close-up. In fact, he looks younger now than he did in the 1960's.
