I missed the last several episodes of the previous series. Could someone please tell me what happened when Ruby went of Pontefract? I presume she went to visit her gentleman friend, but now she won’t read his letters. Was he really that bad?

If so, perhaps you might need to get out a bit more? Or take up knitting?

She did, but I don't know why she was a bitch. The last I saw she was really excited about him, but that was before she went to Pontefract.

Maybe, just maybe, that people in real life are totally different to the way they appear in the 'written word'?

She had had a long relationship with the guy from Pontefract by letter & thought she was in love with him. Presumably when they met she realised she was not in love with him. She hates herself for treating him in a cruel way.
I expect there's a story to unfold there that will answer our questions naomi.
Be patient I think all will be revealed soon.
