Looking to have her roof repaired, How come she cant afford to have it done in dribs&drabs as the builder was offering? It's not like she lives an elaborate lifestyle, she has/had a job in the taxi firm and 3 lodgers, so why cant she afford it ?

Surely the insurance man would have made an appointment and knocked on the door rather than go round the back and press against the window staring into the house!! It is only a soap, but as others have said, it should be a bit more realistic. Eileen could say she filled her paying in book in by mistake and its gone into her account but will make an immediate transfer into Owen's account, but of course she wont, and the story will go on and get even more irritating. I know, I know, but I will stil watch!!

Yes the insurance man peering through the window was a bit ridiculous, he would have made an appointment and she would have got her roof fixed, it was genuine damage so there shouldn't have been any hassle.

i remember her looking to buy, she went and put an offer in at tyrone and molly's first. She was all set to buy but they decided not to move. Just cus she has a job and lodgers doesn't mean she would be able to pay for a job like that.
We have a small mortgage and both work, but it's a struggle!
As for the insurance man, that's what we would do where i live. If there's no answer at the front, you go round the back!

He did make an appointment but was late. After he failed to turn up Eileen went to the pub. Jason and Rosie were upstairs having nookie so probably didn't hear him knock.
