I recently watched the psychological horror film "Gothika". It was an excellent film but i am puzzled by the film title; as there is no reference to anyone or anything that goes by the name of "Gothika" in the flim. Does anyone know why the film is called this? Please help! I can't stop thinking about it!

Although the phonetic spelling of 'gothic' in the dictionary is 'goth-ik', I'm quite sure that the word always ends with a 'c' (unless this is a reference to an obscure early spelling? I don't have my OED handy at the moment).
