i wonder if anyone out there could tell me if you can still get a sky+ (not hd) box i have sky at the moment, film and sports package and would like to use it like i do with my freeview eg taping series' pausing ,rewind etc. the sky website doesnt seem very clear thanks for any help xx

You can do all this with a Sky + HD box. You don't need a HD tv to be able to use the HD Box. I have oldish tv and the HD box works fine, or maybe there is another reason you don't want one. I think the HD box has got a bigger hard drive so you can do the same things but record more and you may be able to pick one up for a similar price.
In fact .. you will get a couple of free HD channels now, if you plug one in .. without HD subscription.
The newer boxes have larger HDD to be able to share space with the new Sky Anytime service.
You will get a decent size HDD and +HD on eBay for around £40-60.
