I hope not as he seems such a nice, sensible boy.

But what he sees in Alice I have never been able to work out. I know she comes from a wealthy family and his Mum was ever so pleased when they got spliced, Susan being ever so slightly ambitious for her menfolk. But Alice has a brain the size of a squirrel. I find it impossible to believe that she got such a good degree. Or any degree at all come to think of it.

I thought we might have got rid of her to our Canadian cousins but it would seem not.

Personally I hope he pulls through. Fingers crossed !

I see two possibilities here:
1. Chris does not survive. Alice will then go to Canada and start a new life.
2. Chris does survive. Alice remains in Ambridge and is forever a thorn in his side, because she will blame him for spoiling her career.
