Does anyone know why LBC is no longer available to listen to on DAB radio?

Thanks for that Baldric, but that is dated Sept 2011, and it was announced last night, in fact it went off air at Midnight 24/8/13.

Although I do not own a DAB radio, the problem for many commercial radio stations is the cost of the licence (for digital transmission), versus the payback through additional listeners.

If the licence costs, far outweighs the addition advertising revenue that can be charged – then many simply cannot afford such a luxury (to be a DAB station).

Of course, no such problem exists for the BBC who are bankrolled by you and me.

Even the name has gone from the on-screen menu. Stations that ceased broadcasting in the past had their title there for weeks or months afterwards, just no broadcast.
They're still live online so it's not a nuclear attack. :)

Yes after midnight this morning it kept repeating the same message over and over again, telling their listeners that they can still listen on-line.

I will now have to remove my DAB radio from my bedside table and replace it with my laptop, if I want to continue to listen.

Have you tried scanning for it? There's nothing on their website about not being on digital.

I have never been able to receive LBC, went on holiday for 3 weeks, came back and Bingo!! There it was!
