As Joe is now in his nineties, and Ambridge hasn't had a death since poor Nigel's, I would have thought it was on the cards, at the very least !

I shall miss him terribly.

Yes, I certainly agree with you, carrust. I thought that he would have pegged out when I heard him have a fall at Grey Gables. No doubt the script writers will drag Joe's suffering out for a while, just as they do other themes.
