Just looking for suggestions really. I recently organised a reunion for our year from our old Girls' Grammar School. We went to a local restaurant and had a great time. We hadn't seen each other in over 40 years. Now we plan to have a short break together in 2016. A few, including myself, are ruling out camping or glamping!! Any ideas? By the way, we're all 61 and there will probably be about 15-20 of us. I think for this first one, UK is probably preferable.

I'm also posting this in travel. TIA.

Themed weekends at Butlins are suppose to be great fun.

Bunk barn in the Yorkshire dales?

What's that Melv? Does it have proper toilet facilities or is it a bit like camping?
A short coach tour?
The bunk barns I've been to all have toilets, showers & a kitchen etc. It's communal sleeping in dorms, so you'll have to take sleeping bags.
Question Author
No I don't think so Melv, but thank you.
what ideas do you all have?

Liverpool weekend. Eurostar to Lille, Lyon or Bruges. Event somewhere. London trip. It has to have somewhere nice to stay, bit of culture, lots of food and drink! No flying. No camping. Lol
Sounds like you lot are a bit precious. LOL
I'd opt for a good country hotel with a swimming pool and a good restaurant. No dashing around and plenty of time to talk and relax.
Trip on the Orient Express.

Melv, you could be right! Although one of our number is an Expedition Leader with World Challenge and another went as the doctor on one of these tall ship expeditions, and ran the london marathon the other week. I'd say the rest of us are less active and like our creature comforts;-)))
