I missed a couple of episodes this week (urgent call to babysit granddaughter and an optician's apptmt., caught today's) and can't listen to Sunday's this weekend. Is it anything to do with the blocked culvert? I'll look for websites if necessary, but have faith ....:o) xx
OK...here I go !
David and Jennifer went to a clandestine meeting with one of the workers at the new Mega Dairy, in a (very) cheap cafe in Borchester. He told them that he had witnessed Rob Titchener deliberately block up an important culvert, which saved the Dairy from being flooded in the Great Ambridge Flood, but was a major factor in flooding the whole Village and putting lives at risk.
David then went straight to Charlie Thomas and presented him with the accusation, without mentioning the Dairy worker, or, indeed, who the worker had identified. We must remember at this stage that Charlie was nearly drowned in the same culvert, on the night of the flood, only to be rescued by Adam Macey, his former Bit On The Side.
( I must remember to have a word with young Adam...he should have left Charlie to drown and saved us all a lot of trouble)
Now Charlie seemed genuinely to be surprised and shocked by this revelation, and immediately called Titchener in, to shed some more light. Rob denied everything of course, as expected, but I am thinking that Charlie isn't satisfied quite yet ( I might have misjudged young Charlie after all ! )
Result....Titchener in an even worse mood than normal !
In the meantime, back at the Ranch, William has finally agreed to be Edward's Best Man, with as much bad grace as he can muster, which for a Grundy is quite a lot ! It is my guess that William intends to be like Sam Gamgee, ie just a Ring Bearer. He is determined that he will Do His Duty, but he won't enjoy it. (those Grundy boys need their pants taking down and being given a sound spanking)
Tonight, all the young women of Ambridge have been sewing away like crazy, to make more bunting for Edwards and Emma's Wedding, instead of tearing the trousers off the Strippergram, like all proper Hen Parties normally do.
Oi think its somat in the water moiself !

I have to hear the omnibus as I missed a few this week, so I'm not in full possession of the facts.
However, Mikey, I do have an observation on Charlie. You say he sounded surprised at the accusation to Rob. However wasn't he the one who told Ed to keep his mouth shut about anything he found when clearing ditches adg gullies?

OK, I have listened to the omnibus now.
Charlie didn't know about the culvert being deliberately blocked, so his earlier warning to Ed wasn't about this.
I agree Mikey, I am despairing whether Helen will ever realise what Rob is really like.
If the scales finally fall from her eyes will it be after she falls pregnant?
