I've started a new thread, hope that's ok.
Just wanted to shout at Ruth tonight, she really is getting so irritating. Does she expect them to discuss every detail of everything with her!

A soap??? How dare you call The Archers a SOAP!! It's an everyday story of countryfolk, with an input from DEFRA, or whoever they are, of helpful advice for the farmers, social-mount aineering advice from Linda and a moral story about avoiding dodgy men like RT, though Helen's not a listener.

Do we think she'll ever come back? In her defence (!), Jill hasn't helped, given all that's happened, changing the kitchen round as soon as she's moved back in and being super-mum with everything. Maybe she doesn't want David to get his hands on the inheritance, she's spending it all, give or take a few cows for Pip.
I would defend poor Jill with my very life !
It was only the other week that Ruth was complaining that the house was a tip and there was nothing to eat ! Now that she has free maid and cook back again, she is still moaning ! Dhe can begger off to NZ as soon as she likes, as far as I am concerned, and good riddance !
Jill can come and look after this home-alone batchelor any time she wants to !

Baddies have been getting away with it in Ambridge for a long as I have been listening !
Look at Brian Aldridge for instance! I know he's a harmless old buffer these days but I can remember the days when nothing in a skirt ( or jodhpurs ! ) was safe !
Caroline, Betty Tucker, Mandy Beesborough, the Irish green-eyed Siren, etc, etc.

I'm wondering if the Fairbrother geese will catch a nasty virus and die so that Eddie can sell all his turkeys after all! I can't see any way out for the Grundys as they're struggling to find somewhere to live, and I'm sure Joe won't go in a home. It all seems to be going wrong for them doesn't it.
Ruth's shock announcement wasn't so bad after all, only two weeks, unless she meets a nice fella in NZ!
Rob, well, words fail me. If it's a girl what will he do?

Re: Rob and gender of baby. I had (in my first marriage) a cousin whose husband openly announced to all that 'She'd better hope it's a boy because otherwise she'll carry on having them until she turns one out.' HONESTLY!
I was pregnant at the same time and heard him (1970's).
It's too early for a scan to tell, unless the baby is in exactly the right position anyway. I bet it's a girl and Helen get's the 'It's not your fault' dear, better luck next time' treatment.
