Promoting myself
4 Answers
It's my dream to be a radio DJ, but as of yet I have no experience. I am looking into hospital radio for experience, and maybe work experience with the BBC.
I was just wondering whether anybody can think of any ideas to promote myself after gaining some experience?
One idea I came up with was to record some demos and keep them on a MySpace Music page... but I was worried about possibly getting into trouble for using other people's music on my shows? Does anybody know if this is a possibility?
TIA for any answers

First off - I wouldn;t bother with a MySpace page - you may run into copyright issues if you play music on it, and the people you need to impress don't bother looking there for new talent - it comes to them via demo discs and, more often, via recomendation.
Getting a job is largely a matter or luck, right-place-right-time, and more luck. That's taking as read the fact that you have the right technical and vocal skills, a bright personality, and a professioanl approach.
Best of luck - I'm afraid you will need it!
