Hi

I am listening to the crime serial 'Inspector Resnick: Wasted Years' on BBC Radio 7.
This programme has occasional snatches of songs and music as part of the background.
Episode 1 begins with the lines -
"Every night I spend waiting
All those dreams and wasted tears"
I think this song may be called 'Wasted Years'
I have googled this with all sensible keywords but have come up blank.
Does any one know if this is from a published song and, if so, what the title is and who the female singer is?
You can hear it on BBC Listen Again, BBC Radio 7

Thanks if you can help

I'd suggest you try Shazam. you need to start the music, then dial 2580 (the keys straight down the middle) from your mobile, hold it near the source of music and let it cut itself off, about 30 seconds later. it then will text you back the song title and artist. it costs about 50p, but if it doesn't know, there's no charge.

it's fab and you can do it anywhere you hear music.

Thanks for that. I will give it a try if no-one here is able to help.
I emailed Radio 7 about this as I also wanted to get hold of it. They replied it was composed for the series and is not commercially available. It is called 'Wasted years' and was composed by Liz Simcock and performed by Gillian Bevan.
