Still doing the GBQ then?

Question Author
Author Compton Mackenzie missed out to Christopher Stone his brother in law.
keep up the good work detective, you'll soon make chief inspector
This is slightly misleading - Christopher Stone was the first person to play records on the radio in a now common records-and-chat format, but the first DJ was of course, the wonderful (double fab!) Sir Jimmy Saville who hit upon the idea of playing records himself at the night-club he managed, and saving money on paying a live band, he decided that two turntables were more efficient, and a few lights would make the atmosphere better, and hey presto ... as it'appens!
