If plastic bottles leech on re-use, why not on original use.

They do leech on original use, that is why they have sell-by date.

Are you washing your bottles in unfiltered pondwater? that is the only way I can see that any member of the Hirudinea could enter the bottle.
PS
Can anyone explain what this has to do with the subject of Radio?

There is a specialist section for 'Science' lower down the list.
The polycarbonate atoms become weakened in the process leading to macular
degeneration of the hydrocarbon bonds.
I was just thinking what a good heading "science" was for this thread.

It was instantly apparent what the thread was going to be about.

Do I take it that this is a question about lEAching rather than lEEching?

Correct spelling is vital in science since a single letter in error can totally change the meaning.

Question Author
Gen 2 is correct --- leaching is correct, but nobody spoke of "rinsing bottles," or no one mentioned "radio"
Question Author
So, tonyted, does that mean that if a bottle is re-used by the "sell by" date, it will be considered "SAFE"
Altekake - YOU mentioned RADIO.

You have posted this question in the RADIO subsection of MEDIA & TV.

Thanks gen2, but as far as I can see, it is under "science" where it was intended to be, Even joggerjayne noted that "science" was a good heading for that thread
With all due respect Altekake, take a look at the URL/address in the top of your browser window.
It says
www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Media-and-TV/Radio/Qu
estion901252.html

Thus confirming that you are indeed lurking in the Radio subsection of Media & TV

Admittedly, you have titled your post 'Science' which led Joggerjane to sarcastically comment on how informative it was(n't).

Your best answers to science questions will be obtained by posting in the more appropriate section that is entitled 'Science' - you will find it below 'Quizzes & Puzzles' in the list down the left of your browser window. A more descriptive title to your question would then be a good idea.
