I personally didn't think he could sing no, but I don't think the producers thought he could either, I think he was billed as a "bit of a character", y'know a bit of a rock n roll rebel type of thing. It backfired spectacularly though.
I also don't blame him for the way he behaved, as I said yesterday he's an 18 year old kid, suddenly faced with (15 minutes of ) fame and girls throwing themselves at him, can't imagine there's many kids of his age who wouldn't grab everything thrown at him.

I think he had delusions of being Keith Richard, although as I opined on another post, you need to have permanently altered popular music for the entirel world, and written 'Satisfaction' to stroll in that particular ball park/
Frankie is better aligning himself with Pete Docherty - he's a druggie who can't sing, doesn't sell records, and has just run out of enough 'image' to be of interest to anyone, and is now headed for justified obscurity - so they have plenty in common.
