Yesterday, I was watching BB and as Hazel came out of the shower, Daley stood in front of her and basically said that she shouldn't wear much make-up. It wasn't a playful suggestion; it was a statement. While saying it he was standing directly in front of her staring straight at her. His stance was rather aggressive and I thought, “Hmm, that's a side of Daley I haven't seen before.”.
And now we have this episode. The really shocking thing about it is that he doesn't seem to think he's done anything wrong and to him it was just a game. When he was told that Hazel had felt threatened by his behaviour, he said that she wasn't to be trusted and that she had 'disrespected' him by saying such a thing.
As an ex-copper, I've seen enough domestic violence cases to last me a lifetime and this scenario was depressingly familiar. The really worrying thing about Daley's behaviour is that he did this in the full knowledge that he was being filmed and broadcast to a national audience. I dread to think what he thinks is acceptable behaviour in private. It would not surprise me in the least if the CPS didn't attempt to prosecute him for a Section 4 Public Order offence.
