we have asked this question....and want to know too..

Have found out Jane works for a local charity.... unable to find out what simon does unfortunately but all the members have a profle on www.channel4.com/the family

following last nights programme i actually went onto www.channel4.com/family there is so much extra stuff on there that the viewers have not seen, and it gives the background as to how they were found and the director talks about them.

i was not able to post the link here for some reason, but if you go onto the site and click on "meet the family" on the left hand side... it explains far more there about them.

I love the programme too,but I feel sorry for Simon who is such a lovely kind hearted man married to a miserable unsupporting wife,one lazy sponging daughter who doesnt care if she comes home in the middle of the night disturbing her dads sleep and a young son who is badly in need of some discipline.Found it very creepy when he was waving a knife about in the kitchen pretending to stab his dad.I am glad Simon decided to ignore them all.Jane did not like the cold shoulder.Then 3 days later Simon gave her lovely Valentines treats.He is a darling.
