I am so surprised that there are no comments about Britain's Got Talent last night with the wonderful Susan Boyle's performance.
How moving was that? How can she get to 47 years old with no one noticing her singing talent? Unbelievable!

Yes,I agree,wasn't she terrific?We have just been to the pub for lunch,the repeat was on and most of the customers had atear in their eye.Very moving

Susan Boyle was absolutely brilliant -- FAB VOICE.

I was stunned when that singing came out of her mouth, she's really really shocked me.

She deserves to go right through to the final & win!!!

Hi Lilsecret, Yes, I did miss this, I had looked on 'reality TV' sub section, agree with most of the views, but I would like Susan to stay just as she is, with no makeover, it might help to lessen the obsession with image. She has a sweet innocent face.

Being famous or a star or whatever is MUCH more than just talent.

It is not always the most talented who get to the top.

You need to have drive and committment.

You need to go to audition after audition and maybe get rejected every time before someone "discovers" you.

And even then, you may not have the right temprement or work ethic to get into a professoinal show and do it night after night.

Of course entertainment is also a "looks" oriented business (look a the members of Girls Aloud for example) and if you dont have the looks that can also count against you.

So it is much more than being just a good singer.

I've just had a quick gander at it on youtube - unfortunately I cannot get any sound - so just have the video. I will have to listen to it somewhere else - she was obviously phenomenol.

To me - it's not so much that she's "ugly" - I wouldn't say she is ugly at all, bless her, but, what shocked me was - 47 ?????? Forty-Seven? That's my age FFS - I'm not bigging myself up or anything, but she looks way older than me or than her age of 47. Without knowing her age, I would have said she was nearing 60. Someone needs to pretty her up a bit (I'm not talking complete makeover - she's lovely as she is - I think she just needs a confidence boost & to be shown how to make more of herself. )

sorry craft - I wasn't dissing the over-60's (and I'm sure you're a stunner for your age...!), just think this susan girl looks way older than her suposed 47 or 48 years. It was a shock when I read her age. I can't wait to hear her singing, with sound this time!

i listening to susan singing the day before y/day, over and over again.
And this afternoon, I was at it again. And again, she's filled my eyes with tears!

I am begining to wonder if this is all it is cracked up to be.

She was amazing, but gave the impression she was all very amateurish.
