Andy Kershaw has to be the epitamy of uncouthness

He was on Sky News last week reviewing the morning papers with his feet on the sofa with what appeared to be scruffy trainers and then this morning on Mathew Wrights programme, he was rude and kept butting into, so much so , he was 'told off' from the host because he told him to shut-up!
where do these people get off? were they never taught any manners as kids?

Well lets face it the Mathew Wright show is hardly going to get an intelligent guest on is it - I mean hardly a top notch news show!!

Its a news show for the less intelligent in my opinion.

Everyone has bad things happen to them as well as good things. It is a part of life and living, but that does not make them act like this. There is no excuse for bad manners.

He has an extensive knowledge of 'World Music' and has championed many acts from 'third world countries'.........his accent is his accent and he'd never have made it (in broadcasting terms) if he hadn't have had *substance*.

I was criticising his bad manners bobbi, not his intelligence. He is probably far more intelligent than I am (not difficult) - witness the fact that he is doing whatever it is and probaly earning a great deal of money doing it and I would be completely unable to compete with him.

I so agree with you on his musical no-how jack, I can't knock this, it was just his manners that let him down badly imo
as for the accent, I don't see anything wrong with it at all

Andy Kershaw has always had an 'anti-style' which consists of appearing exactly as he is at all times - including his dress, voice, and opinions.

That sort of attitude is regarded as rather quaint by the BBC, and they tend to like their 'hothouse' eccentrics, until they go off on one!

To their credit, Radio Three has rescued Kershaw and found a niche for his obvious passion and knowledge for and about African music - which he championed first and foremost on Radio One as Peel's protogee
