DI Banks

Having read all the brilliant books by Peter Robinson what a hash they've made of him with the TV version .
Stephen Tompkinson is so wooden .Not my idea of Banks at all .
I gave up after about 15 minutes .

I've never rated Tompkinson, I don't know what people see in him, but he has a huge fan club.

I love him dearly and watched only becasue he was in it, but oh what a shambles. Sorry Stephen, I couldn't watch this one.

He's not at all as I'd portray DCI Banks from the great books of Peter Robinson and because of that I can't watch.

Totally agree, loved the books, but tv series is awful. Hes not want Banks is like at all.

I'm not familiar with the books and didn't watch when it was one before so I thought I'd give it a go on Friday but the acting of the sergeant -played by Andrea Lowe - was really off putting. I agree Stephen Tomkinson was very wooden (I loved him in Drop The Dead Donkey) so I didn't get as far as the first advert break.
