Is he ill in real life or just being retired from Soapland? He's had a bit of a woof time recently you gnaw, he thinks the storylines are barking mad and he's annoyed that he's not had more of a lead-ing part!

No, he's not ill in real life and his real name actually is Schmichael. I personally think they are killing him off because Fizz is coming back in the street and she didn't want him around her baby when she first came out of hospital, so sadly he has to go!

Scmeichel has been played by 4 dogs. The first three have already died (in real life).
The current Schmeichel has only been in it since March.
