I am out for dinner tonight, so no football, thank heavens. Dread seeing the English fans misbehaving!
Good afternoon all. A beautiful day here. Have been to M & S t collect some shoes and another dress I order on line and then what did I do - I went and bought a pair of brill orange sandles to go with it. I'll try and get some piccies of them in a bit. I love them and they broke the bank!!

Later after lunch I'm off to Ashbourne with Fuschia for our yearly meeting with our author Cousin and his lady. We usually spend a couple of hours havving tea by the river where their holiday cottage is. They live in Canterbury and we don''t see a lot of them but they love the area and come every year. So I'm really looking forward to seeing them.

I hope you get you mouth sorted out Jno. I wish I was coming to ses Dire Straits. L love them and Mark Knopfler is brilliant. I don't know if you remember but I saw him with Bob Dylan last year.

Hope you're feeling better Robi. I find the sunshine always picks my mood up if I'm 'offit'. Steady is still having problems with his ectopics and is still off work. He's worrying me a bit because he isn't well. He is eating the right stuff but not enough of it if you understand me. I'm hoping when he goes to his appointment with the Cardiologist he can get him sorted.

Also Shaney I hope your leg is getting better too and if I've missed anyone I hope all aches and pain are subsiding. Oops yes Neti the mozzie bites - I hate them when I get them too. I just delete voice mails from Orange like I do the others. You could also try ringing it then wait till it connects then end the call that should do it I would hope.

Right of to do some lunch now - Laters 'gaters have a good rest of the day...

Hi all
Lol Robinia ..I think Mr S's backside has become glued to the settee .I tidied up some magazines on the coffee table earlier and we nearly had WW3 because he couldn't find his score chart :)
Lovely day here ,sunny and warm .Breezy though and have loads of washing out .
Have a nice time Jude .Love to you all ..pip pip for now .
I do remember, Jude. I have never seen them and funnily enough I never even heard of them when they were famous. I found out about them years later and realised I enjoyed them. I have no idea how many of the originals will be playing.

Godot is sounding more and more perplexed about the intricacies of our wiring. I am mortified, even though it is not my fault, it was all here when we moved in.
It was a lovely evening yesterday here too. I haven't seen the bats yet though. My solar fairy lights are looking lovely and twinkly and the garden smells of roses and honeysuckle.
I tried the new mower today. Its brilliant. Starts effortlessly and has munched its way through the lawn.
I am eating pizza for lunch. Was going to have a healthy brown bread sandwich but the bread was brown and green so I have cooked a frozen pizza instead....its an ill wind.
Dire Straits...wonderful guitar riffs...does that sound like I know what I am talking about.?
My godson is a guitarist. He graduates from uni this summer.
ooh, s'warm outside...
Well I know why big fox was snuffling round so long last night, s/he was obviously looking for something to feed a youngster. I just had an amble around the garden and a little fox suddenly totted out from under a shrub & disappeared down the bottom end, haha, it made me jump.

haha, well I never...I'll have them fetching me a newspaper out of the neighbours letterboxes in no time shaney...I'd like to teach 'em to scoop their own poor, it's bloomin toxic stuff.
*poop !!
well, imran has found the problem, it was some long-ago rodent nibbling wires under the floorboards, so all is sorted, the lights are going on all over Europe, and we are several hundred pounds lighter. Saf thinks I just have a gum infection and gave me some antibiotics, so that's hopeful, but my parking ticket fell on the floor so I've been fined some more for not displaying it.

A mixed day, definitely. But at least I haven't seen any foxes

lol....
Sorry it's been an expensive day for you...
and if the lights go dim in Derby tonight I'll know who's sapping all the power.
here's one I put on another thread today ... I got it from an obituary of Ann Rutherford... it's the advertising for the 1940 film of Pride and Prejudice

"Five charming sisters (age 16-24) on the gayest, merriest manhunt that ever snared a bewildered bachelor. Girls, take a lesson from these husband-hunters."

I expect you recognised it at once.
Clever foxes... And no, I would have thought that synopsis was a carry on film.
Anyway oight oight all. It's cock chafer hatching night here so all windows firmly shut.
good morning all.We went out for a lovely run this morning, then back to bed but around 08.30 Rab git the fidgets to be up and doing so we all had to get up. Given that i get up at 4.20 and go back to bed at around 6.30. 8.30 is my 6.30 so am feeling decidedly sleepy....bloomin dogs.
Morning all...I'm back again but you probably didn't notice I'd already been in anyway. :) My friend called to say her OH half was going to the tip again & he took a lot of odds and ends for me. It's lovely to get an offer of help, no matter how small, and he refused to let me 'buy him a pint'. I think for my next phase I need to go on a not-so-merry man-with-a van hunt.

Lovely and sunny, the washing's flappin'...is it the longest day? I always thought it was the 21st June but he said it was today on the radio.
I believe Derby has tilted a bit further toward the sun today than it normally does, which may explain the discrepancy

It's sure not tilted toward me.
Robi, my man with a van man is a builder who has a disposal licence and the refuse thing is a sideline....might be worth looking at buildy, maintenancy, gardeny type people. Dogs have gone back to sleep...blooming typical.
Robi, the last pop in I can see from you was yesterday?
ha, I'm a day behind in your world then woofy? i assure you i haven't been on here all night. I'd just stuck my head around the door when my friend rang earlier and in the meantime my puta fell asleep...I know the feeling.

Well jno you've got plenty of bright lights now haven't you? You can't have everything you know. Here you are...
