Did anyone see the interview with Julian (son of Beatle John and first wife Cynthia) this morning? He came over as a really friendly, kind, nice natured man completely modest and he just loves his Mum to bits....... John would have been so proud of him.

OK guy,but not much of a singer.IMO.
Looks a lot like his old man.
No I missed it, but would like to have seen that.

Thank you Ann.
He was on a radio show some time back and came over as a very unassuming and very nice man. I was much impressed.
He's like his mum, but sings like his dad!
John would have been really proud of him but from reading his mother`s authobiography, I`m not sure he would have given a toss. She didn`t paint a very good picture, to be honest.
I met him about20 years ago, and he is such a likeable genuine man. I didnt like the song on TV this morning, but I think that was the fault of the sound guys. The sound was not balanced.

Was that what was wrong Beattie? I thought the sound was odd when I heard it on the programme, but couldn't tell if it was Julian's voice or the song.
I know Cynthia was very bitter about ex-husband John, as much as I was a fan of the Beatles (John was favourite) I think he did wrong walking out on his marriage and I never much liked him after he got hooked up with the dreadful Yoko Ono.
Ann - I think Cynthia came across as being bitter about John Lennon leaving her (which is understandable) but in her book (and from interviews with Julian Lennon) I definitely think they feel he let them down. He definitely seemed to neglect his relationship with Julian but he was very proactive in his relationship with Sean Lennon. I think that is where the bitterness comes from. Shame really.
Question Author
Yes I agree, it is a shame as Julian is so nice.

Did you see the Daily Mail article where the sons of all 4 Beatles are considering getting together for a performance, that would be some concert!
But only if they all can sing! Would never be as good as the Fab Four though.
Maybe he's such a nice genuine guy thanks to his rocky relationship with his father. I'm not in any way condoning John Lennon's alleged neglect or abandonment - but sometimes sh**ty things have to happen to us to make us the people we are today. I guess it would be hard not to be bitter though, especially as John is still hero-worshipped somewhat.
I agree mayviabelle!
he appears to have assimilated his father - which has to be so difficult given who his father was - and to be a really nice genuine guy.

It's spooky how much Julian resembles John, not just in looks, but the head and shoulder movements when he sings - identical, and the similar vocal inflections, and of course, those Lennon-esque chords.
