Do any of you hark back to tv programmes of yesteryear. I used to love
That's life. I especially used to like the 'Get Britian singing' slot when they
used to dress up and leap out on unsuspecting customers. What tv
programme hold special memories for you?

That's Life was the successor to the Braden Week and latterly On the Braden Beat. I'm probably the only man left alive who can remember Bernard Braden and his wife, Barbara Kelley, a regular on What's My Line, along with Isobel barnett.

Mr.c can. He's a bit older than me!
I loved "What's my Line", "Candid Camera" (laughed like drains at it) and Les Dawson in "Blankety Blank" ,,,,oh and loads others which will come to me soon!
Not to mention Gilbert Harding, David Nixon, Eamonn Andrews and Cyril Fletcher.

Do any of you remember Dustin Gee [I think that's how you spell it] He was
Les Dennis's comic partner. They were quite funny in their day. Sadly Dustin
Gee died quite young.
Did he used to take off "Marvis" cupid?
I don't really know!
From the same era came "20 Questions" on radio, hosted by Franklin Engelmann with the regular panel of Anona Wynn, Joy Adamson, Norman Hackforth and Peter Glaze. And the next object is..? We used to make up dirty answers to that, not fit for publication on this site.
No, Les Dennis used to take off Mavis. Dustin Gee took off Vera Duckworth.
Question Author
The only one i've heard of there is Peter Glaze. It's 5 to 5 and it's
CRACKERJACK!
Good times Mike!

Just remembered of course Les Dennis did Mavis and Dustin did Vera.
No pencil for you, Cupid, have a cabbage! (or was it a cauliflower?)
Or a blankety blank cheque book and pen ;-)
Round The Horne, now there was a show much ahead of its time. Julian and Sandy (aka Kenneth Williams and Hugh Paddick) - brilliant.

My sister and I loved Hugh Paddick in Pardon my Genie. If I saw it now I'd probably think it was rubbish. We also loved Catweazel.
Worzel Gummidge. With Aunt Sally. [Una stubbs]
Nearest and Dearest with Hilda Baker and Jimmy Jewel
"I can say that without fear of contraception"
