Surely the subject The Swallows and the Amazons, a series?of small childrens books was not big enough for a programme like this. No wonder the contestant got 15 of the answers right. This programme has re ally been dumbed down over the last few years' and it was not fair on the other competitors.

a series of seriously large books, as I recall.
Twelve books in the series, and they are not 'small books'.

The producers of this programme are quite careful to balance large topics to narrower ones anyway.

Perhaps the reason the contestant got 15 out of 15 was that they really knew their stuff.
"are we there yet?"
"won't be long now"
The quote fit's brilliantly into that Lemon Jelly song.

Mastermind was never the same after Magnus Magnusson died and was replaced by that prat. That's why I prefer University Challenge which, conversely now has Jeremy Paxman who in my opinion is brilliant compered (alternative spelling/pun intended) with Bamber Gaspipe.
It's your specialist subject - you pick something you know a lot about. YOU could go on and answer questions about the films of Quentin Tarantino - Django Unchained in his fifth (As a Director)!

For many years they banned anyone going on the programme and answering questions about Terry Pratchett and the Discworld series. Maybe the powers-that-be thought they held little or no literary value as subjects.
seven, surely, Judge? Even counting Kill Bill as one.

Not that it's my specialist subject or anything.
just to justify that...

Reservoir Dogs
Pulp Fiction
Jackie Brown
Kills Bills
Death Proof
Inglourious Basterds
Django

Perhaps i've got this wrong. My parents only got me two of these books when I was young and that was all I thought there were. (It was a very long time ago)
My mistake, jno. I stand corrected. I thought he only directed a segment of Death Proof (Great film, btw) and I forgot about the Kill Bill saga...
Kill Bill 3 is allegedly on the way

Time to buy the other ten, tooj!
I just watched it on iplayer and scored 22 (including specialist subject questions) !
