This has cropped up before. Although not publicised the contestants do receive a nice fat cheque for appearing on the show .For some maybe this is the incentive to apply.
They do not get paid for appearing on the show - that would affect their benefits.
They get free travel to and from, a hotel room for the night and food and lots and lots of booze.
No cash.
I can verify they don't pay cash, a family on our local estate who I am acquainted with were on a few years ago and weren't paid a single penny in cash.
its easy to slate the people who go on these shows (i do) but try to remember not everyone is a benefit scrounging attention seeking idiot. people make mistakes and need help, like it or not this show does offer some. things like dna tests and rehab aren't cheap.
i can't imagine being in any circumstance in which i would let myself be dragged onto a tv show to air my grievances for the amusement of others but perhaps some people see it as their only way to get the help they need
It was the aggression and shouting that got me. I thought my my tv had a problem with the sound, then I realised that a lot of words must have been bleeped out.
In fairness to Jeremy Kyle he does have a team of people working with a lot of these people. Several alcoholics and drug addicts have had treatment programmes arranged. But there are some sad cases ,like the young lad this morning desperate to know who his father is. Mother had sex with about 6 lads when she was sixteen!! Sadly he didn't get a positive answer and he was heartbroken. If you think Jeremy Kyle show is unbelievable ----Did anyone watch the BBC1 programme about broken families ??
Serves you right for stopping on it.
Yes it is always like that. I can say that with confidence even without having seen the show you did. I think it's only a showcase of him getting a kick out of abusing those with "problems". I don't even think the "problem" folk are always genuine either.
