The father thought elder son had murdered Callum. Hid body and then had to move it when area was made a reservoir. Callum had died in 'self inflicted' accident. Mum and elder son went home together.
Unsatisfactory.
I can't remember any the names but basically the Dad thought the older son had done it when in actually fact the child did it himself after seeing the lad next door playing dangerous games by hanging ropes round his neck! The incident in the bath that they kept showing was in fact another 'game' where the younger child kept telling the older one to hold his head under water! The Dad disposed the body to protect the older child
I couldn't remember who the weird guy was who "confessed", who was he and why was he so keen to confess?
As far as the ending went, I thoiught the older child had killed him in an accident from the start.
I can't see what the father could have been charged with other than failing to report a suspicious death and preventing a lawful burial. If convicted I doubt he would have gone to jail for it.
I also thought it was the brother who had done it from early on, thought I ws right for a short time there. I was disappointed in the ending as well.
I don;t unserstand what they would nother charging the father with, or why at least.
The whole thing seemed more focused on the adults difficUlt relationships with children, rather than a 'whodunnit', but didn't do either successfully in the end imo.
The reservior was where the dad buried his son, he owned some land there, but had to move the body when the land was taken over to become a reservior. Didn't really get the connection with the autistic boy, he didn't like the colour green and the boat was green, family friend. Seemed a bit pointless to me adding that in.
