...tonight. While not a regular viewer, I've enjoyed many of his interviews & shall be watching (or at least recording for later!) his last episode.

His finest hour: Media URL: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-27231922
Description:
While this one showed just why the public have a deep mistrust of 'main party' politicians:

The true disgrace of this news-clip was not the struggles of the wretched junior minister, Chloe Smith, but the fact that George Osborne sent her into the lion's den whilst himself skulking in Downing Street wining and dining Tory colleagues. I'll bet they switched the telly on to watch the torment.
Thanks Paxo, for all the fun that you have given me over the years...not sure how we are going to manage without you though ?
see the Beeb News is advertising again, a reference to how Paxman leaves the studio. Really can't stand this self-promotion of programmes - or in showing key clips ahead of the broadcast (Queen's Xmas Day speech comes to mind - with that, you have heard the bloody thing before the film rolls).
He's doing standup in Edinburgh next month! He's also considering a job with Ch 4.
DTC...Paxo is now a National Treasure, in the same way as Alan Bennett and
Thora Hird....how could the Beeb not celebrate his leaving ?

He is the toughest and most watchable political interviewer I have ever seen in action, and I am old enough to remember Robin Day !
His last show tonight has him swearing...at/with Boris!
I'm not saying that they don't recognise it, but this self-aggrandissement and promotion on programmes like the News should be discouraged.
Not sure why DTC...Radio 4 itself is probably the best National Treasure that us Brits possess.
Love him or loathe him , there's no denying he'll be missed. I always enjoyed his interrogations , oops sorry, interviews. I always love to see politicians squirm when caught out at , yet another lie or "untruth".
I was surprised to read a few days ago that in an interview he labelled himself as a one nation Tory.
