Years ago I watched Leni Riefenstahl's, Triumph of the Will, on TV over Christmas. Admittedly, it wouldn't be to everyone's taste but does TV no longer do 'weighty' at Christmas?

No, I agree. It's all frothy rubbish and repeats and soap streets, soap, squares, soap villages , at Christmas
Years ago, there used to be Royal Ballet production of The Nutcracker. Ok, so I know ballet isn't everyone's cup of Earl Grey, but I always loved it.
BBC4 had The Winter's Tale ballet at 7pm last evening
Oh no Bibble. I missed that. I didn't even know it was on. xx
they showed it again at 2am but no future dates given so the only way to see it now seems to be is either online or iPlayer http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04w815s
I can't believe I have just missed Pinocchio on BBC1. I would have loved to record it for the grandchildren.
