Wolf Hall
"Wolf Hall" is on BBC One tonight at 21:00. I found the books to be all but unreadable, but I am looking forward to this dramatisation. Anybody else planning to watch ?

I am with you totally. I never had time to read the book but sat through the first episode with my wife. We both love history and my wife, in particular, the Tudor period. We thought it was brilliant. For a change the BBC got the sound and dialogue correct so we didn't have to ask each other what had been said. The picture, as we had been warned, was deliberately darkened so as to portray candlelight. It worked well and was not too dark but gave out the right atmosphere. Glad I recorded it. Will record the whole series so we can look back on it in the future.
Did any one think that Thomas Cromwell looked like a very young Richard Harris? The mem sahib thought he bore a resemblance to Robert Mitchum also :-). Well done the BBC. About time.
