will someone please tell me i am not going completely round the bend, I am convinced that it has already been on this year but now they are advertising it for May 23rd
I can remember watching it I am sure
it was from Vienna
Conchita Wurst was running around in the green room with the contestants and the Finland vote was given by Lordi
so what did I watch if that wasn,t it

f- f... presumably that could have been one of the " preliminary" heats that the major players don't need to take part in (because they actually pay for it, instead!)?

Apparently it has been broadcast on Aussie tv for over 30 years so, owing to the country's cultural and political ties with Europe and to celebrate the 60th birthday of the contest, they have been 'invited' to take part. However, should they win, next year's even will still take place on European soil, though they would, as winners, qualify to take part again.
FF....you can be excused your confusion. This daft contest has been going on for a very long time, and was past its sell-by date years ago.
Most of the recent ones have looked alike, although last year they did, at least, try something different, by allowing a transvestite, with a large black beard to win, something that puzzles me still.

A set of ear-muffs come in handy.........dont watch it as usually out Saturday nights gigging, but its all political voting usually so Cyprus give Greece 12 points and vice versa and so on.
I have the misfortune of having to play the UK entry most days on my radio show and it really is crud, so nil pois or thereabouts is assured, as maybe our Irish friends and Malta, who love the english, give us some points.
Mrs Bear, who is American-born, loves the competitition and gets all excited during the run-up.
