Anyone else immersed in this brilliant series? Especially the handsome Jonas NAY, who btw is a big gay porn star.

We are really loving it, we were in Germany in '83, living in a military environment and it brings back a lot of memories, mirrors under cars were a regular thing. In episode one we could see where it was going, about the nearest we ever came to war.

Yes. I am thoroughly enjoying it. Hope they bring out a box set. I have missed one episode I think but managed to catch up on the thread.I was sorry Lynda got bumped off. I quite fancied her myself and felt sorry for her by the way she was used!
No. The trailers looking intriguing; but then I discovered we are expected to read it as they couldn't be bothered to dub it. If I want to read I'll open a book. So I gave it a miss.

they will sub title something if a decent proportion have a working knowledge of the language - ze Fransh crime series are good ( engrenages )
Ruddy hell. I have a colour, dubbed version of Das Boat. Was only when I watched that offering that I knew it was only a film so I sheepishly removed my Davies Escape apparatus in the front room :-)
dubbing ruins all movies including Das Boat (ive had both versions) i watched all Wallanders excellent episodes with subs ,i suppose its how quick you are scanning the subs no point in reading them if you miss the picture
I agree. A German U boat crew with American accents.!! Give me the German black/white version any day. You actually lived in that sub with them.
Have to disagree. Never known a film ruined by dubbing yet, not that I watch that many films. Even bad dubbing is better than none. Can even be a cause of additional amusement when the length of speech differs in the two languages. Recall The Water Margin ?
old gezzer
could be that a lot of us like to be immersed in a movie not distracted by ridiculous dubbing as you point out in some cases ,its like some of the youth now watching a big screen movie on a mobile phone then saying "oh yeh i've seen that movie",well not in my eyes they aint.
Being distracted more, by having to read rather than watch and immerse yourself in the film, doesn't bother you then ?
as i said earlier depends how slow a reader you are, i'm not slow
