American Submarine Film Or Documentary Today
Whilst flicking through the Freeview channels today probably 1200-1300 but not certain of the time I came across the very end of a programme which appeared to be the true story of a US sub that had sunk. Can anyone tell me the name of the programme and channel please.

dont give us a clue will you
there is one coming up reg now with William Bendix
you can look him up on imdb
I can only remember him as a comedy fella in late fifties replays
yes replays IN the late fifties of b/w films of before ....
quite a populat theme
as there was discussion about shooting germans for unrestricted sub warfare and their defence of #'well the americans did it as well'
one Brit RN sub captain wouldnt take on prisoners unless they promised to tell all ( boat and not a sub )

This is the 3rd attempt at posting this reply. I only caught the very end where it was saying the American captain would never captain another submarine and its crew would always be remembered so was obviously a factual story. Being a ex submariner myself anything on this subject is of interest to me.
