The programme illustrates why I don't watch as much TV as I did when I was five .And these people can still be seen on television .

When Celebrities Go Pop ?
Question Author
Aye that's it
Just had a peek ,, it's as much taking a pop at them really.

Just rubbish filler telly.
Question Author
Not great telly but why did they do it .
Ch5 relies on people who have no talent, so they dont have to pay much.

All their shows like Benefit St, people on the dole, Xmas, weddings, by the seaside, 20 best of Xmas songs, 30 years of best singers, 20 years of best comedians, the list goes on.

All they have to do is pay expenses to the Docs, and royalties to old actors/singers etc for old clips..
It's just a cheap filler TV bosses need to fill the hours and it can't all be expensive productions - compilations fit that brief.

Not something I'd watch.

But is something similar not happening where those brought in to front up shows are then doing other shows unrelated .like bringing a painter in and saying while you are here just tune the piano don't matter how badly you do it but your a face
Stumped now, sorry.
Question Author
To many people doing what they don't do well on the telly at the moment is the problem .
I watched Chas and Dave's Xmas special from the 80's, last week on C5. It was excellent! Their guests included, Jimminy Cricket, Eric Clapton and Albert Lee, two top guitarists and a corny comedian..what's not to like..
^ all that?
Morecambe & Wise 1976 Christmas Special was on BBC2 earlier. I still laughed. I was 11 when it was first shown. So 40 years later it is still funny as nothing else has been done to replace it. I agree Weecalf most of today's programme are rubbish as most of them are reality & someone wanting 10 mins of fame which is cheap for the producers. Take out all reality programmes, DIY or buying and selling houses and there is not much left and what is left are fronted by the off spring of presenters from 40 years ago that also do not have talent.
Maigret's on.
