Lisbon. tonight, I particularly enjoyed and I have been to a couple of the restaurants featured - and well presented. Now that Calo Verde, however simple that it is, is well worth tasting and enjoying - but, for me, it's the way they charcoal their sardines, seafood, and fish, be it cod, gurnard or red dory......keep it simple!

the fish - small but not bad
the chips - small but not bad
the mushy peas - small and outrageous (when I went £2 for a wee pot and seriously wee)
the ice cream from Looe's Treleavan's, excellent, and a steal at about £2 - but then a cyncial (clever) way of finishing off the meal that runs in around £15 a head inc a drink.

I'm with you both DT & AV on the Padstow experience, but have (surprise to me) enjoyed both the Weekend trips progs. Had a real laugh with "She who must be obeyed". We were talking, and she says, out of the blue, I've been to Lisbon. Ohh nice I say, "yes with school" she says. "Then I also went to the Algarve once" she says. "I had those sardines that you have in Cornwall, but asked them to take the bones out". You are joking, says me, not even considering her immense force of will. No she says, "my sardines were brought to the table by the chef and they had been filleted". Laughed like a drain I did.
