'Love Island' is classified as a 'Reality Programme. Unfortunately, many Reality Programmes are known to be far from real. Producers detail what is expected of Contestants and control what is shown on screen to viewers. Material is mostly pre-recorded and edited accordingly.
From an anthropological point of view, it's very interesting to watch the dynamics of the house unfold and how human pair bonding behaviour takes place when a competition is involved.
