Just watched this on BBC 2. Extraordinarily moving. Prince Charles chose 7 artists to paint Holocaust survivors. Their stories must be preserved.

An absolutely brilliant programme and very moving, the quality of the portraiture to their stories remarkable...and, dare I say it, with such a positive, yet reflective and considered perspective. This should be mandatory watching! The 96 year old woman - wow, I hope that I have her marbles in place if I ever make that age - a brilliant communicator. One of the best programmes that I have seen on the BBC in a long time.- and I am talking a fair few years.
It sickens me that in some parts of the world it still happens. Not nearly on the same scale but there are still evil humans amongst us.

I would call them animals but, to my knowledge, only Chimps kill their own kind for enjoyment. They are our cousins.

I found myself struggling midway through...only because the sadness and emotion in their eyes was overwhelming. The final portraits were beautiful reflections of incredible strong survivors. And Prince Charles...what a deeply thoughtful man.
It was very moving and humbling - their calmness in recounting such horrors was amazing.

Beautiful souls.
yet there were optimistic messages - as in 'don't hate people - even the Germans'.....
I too thought it was an excellent programme featuring some remarkable people and the portraits reflected what they had been through, something which should never be forgotten. Yes very thoughtful from Prince Charles.
It's so hard not to feel emotional when hearing what horrors they went through. Yet, there are still holocaust deniers out there!
Stumbled on this programme by accident and so glad I did. What a humbling experience to be able to share their stories. Portraits were wonderful and a lasting legacy of man's inhumanity to man.
