I've watched and thoroughly enjoyed all of this and am looking forward to the next release, even though I'll be sad to say a final goodbye to it.

Couldnt get into the grown up Sheldon series, have forgotten what it's called.

Please move this to film etc, I don't know how or why it's ended up here, possibly gin related...🍸

The Big Bang Theory

I'm quite surprised how they film these series (with kids) so that they grow up appreciably over the years. Malcolm in the Middle is another & Outnumbered.

Isn't there an Outnumbered special coming up?

The Big Bang Theory was so far removed from Young Sheldon as to be unrelated. Part of it for me was the grown up Sheldon actor, couldn't relate to him at all as Sheldon.

(I could never get on with it though.  I just didn't find it funny).

Funny isn't it (or not) Chris, what tickles us? I really liked Outnumbered when the children were young but found it less funny as they grew up.

& of course The Wonder Years from long ago...

What I liked most about Young Sheldon was how the focus moved from the title character to the more interesting family members such as Georgie and Mandy, Missy or MeeMaw (Annie Potts was the real star of the show)

Question Author

I agree Mozz, the casting was superb, all of them

I loved Big Bang Theory, which is why I watched Young Sheldon. But, as you said Vagus, they're very different. I'll be sad to see it end too.

Big Bang Theory - One of my favourite TV shows .... absolutely hilarious.

The thing is, you need to watch it several times to get to know the characters and their idiosyncrasies, so whilst I'm sat their roaring laughing at something Sheldon has just said or done .... the person sat next to me who has never seen the show before, probably won't find it funny.

I like TBBT also... even knowing the character of Sheldon it did take a bit of warming to Young Sheldon, as was pointed out they're different... but both just as funny.

Fun fact: In early March 2017, Iain Armitage was cast as the younger Sheldon, and Zoe Perry as his mother, Mary Cooper. Perry is the real-life daughter of Laurie Metcalf, who portrays Mary Cooper on The Big Bang Theory.

I love YS and TBBT. I watched TBBT first and I think YS portrays Sheldon exactly how I imagined he would be.

Fun Fact: The actress that plays Sheldon's mum in YS is the daughter of the actress that plays his mum in TBBT.

Wow! TTT, that's amazing!

😂

10:41 sorry Ark, should have read the thread before posting!

No problem... 😉 Good to see you're on top form TTT.

Fun fact: Lance Barber who plays Sheldon's dad also played Jimmy, a bully from Leonard's school in one episode of TBBT.

As some have mentioned YS developed the other characters amazingly well. In fact Sheldon himself became a bit predictable & frankly boring.

I thought McKenna Grace played a good part.

davebro: "In fact Sheldon himself became a bit predictable & frankly boring." - I think that was the idea, we are meant to see how grown up Sheldon developed into the annoying narcissist his character becomes.

I didn't know that TTT...
