ATV - Central News in the 1980s
Does anyone remember the name of the reporter who always did the 'and finally' reports. He usually ended up covered in water or face down in a field. I think his first name might have been John. Anyway, it's driving me and my Dad crazy trying to remember. Thanks folks

The Tarrant and Swallow double-act was entertaining, and always well done, and was very typical of ITV local news magazines of the 1970s. This sort of larking around fell out of favour with local television news editors in the 1980s as they tried to make their formats more serious. John moved on to present with Central. He retired from the company in the early 2000s.
