It is brilliant that rescue dogs are getting highlighted on BBC but why is the money raised not going to the RSPCA and other rescue charites??? Surely the money raised should be for the welfare of 1000s of rescue animals in the UK..Its like doing a program about children in care homes and donating the money to the RSPCA..!! We have Red nose day maybe its time we had a day for rescue animals..then thousands of lives would be saved..

I suppose the money is going to Children In Need to make up for the increase in children who will be attacked by dogs or suffer from toxocariasis if the appeal to re-home these animals is successful. It's just payback... or pay-off, perhaps.

So im guessing your no dog/animal lover..my daughter was biten by a dog aged 4 years old and the dog took a chunk out of her nose so she is scared for life.
Fortunately she still loved dogs and it never put her of amazingly.
She is now 12 and we have a staffie who is 1 year old and people like yourself are quick to judge. Our dog is loved and is also very loving back. Its humans that make dogs bad. I was once like yourself i hated all dogs but untill i owned one i have totally changed my views. Millions were raised for children in need but who gives to animal charities?? I think if we as humans use dogs for breeding so we can make quick n easy money then wonder why there is so many dogs and so many in rescue centres..Its time we looked at ourselves.
I agree bev, but at least they are highlighting all rescue dogs and their plights.... not just 1 rescue.

Here's where I got my dog from bev :-) and this lady works hard against dog cruelty by puppy farms.... just scroll down to the before and after pic.... happy ending:-)

Our dog is a dobermann, and we have 6 kids in the family.... all able to take his toys and food away, as he is trained to give things up immediately.....

lmao @ jen.... children in need is about abuse and rescue from social services not dogs.....
