Does anyone think that the cross examining of David Platt was not very true to life. Wouldnt any decent prosecution lawyer/barrister have really gone to town on such a cocky, arrogant witness.

They so would have and so would have the people who were questioning Deidre, everyone could see that she was not only a tad unwell but that she was not answering the questions straight away for a reason! Aren't the jury supposed to notice all the long pauses the wtinesses are giving when they're looking at people etc!
The jury would have known that David is 15.

If the prosecution was to come across as 'bullying' then the jury may have felt sympathy for him. As it is, he looked like a lying cocky lad. There was more than enough to discredit him.
david is actually 16 in the programme
